m.o.d. compensation
The unique nature of military service and of military courts gives rise to human rights issues in respect both of civilians and soldiers. human rights law which may become relevant to the activities of armed forces whether they remain in barracks, undertake training or are deployed in military operations within their own country or outside it.
Even if it is clear that the armed forces have denied an individual his or her rights there may, in some contexts, be many procedural or other impediments lying in the way of a remedy against the members involved. It may be that effort should be directed towards training members of armed forces to comply with the human rights obligations of their country
It is the right of every employee to feel safe be given good instruction at work .even though ranks in the ministry of defence would disagree this is not always the case for an employee of the armed forces.
He may not get the correct medical treatment he may be injured down to carelessness not on the battle field whilst under conflict but on the training ground under what should be a safe environment. People join the army to fight wars against other states people that wish to violate the human rights of others but would it surprise you to know more soldiers are injured in peace time activities than wartime.
Most of these accidents could be avoided i accept that the very nature of the army is such that employee will come into contact with opportunities that are dangerous in their very nature,
Accidents where equipment is not safe has not been checked over by the maintenance teams stories of jeeps turning over or the very recent case of a man being killed because blanks had been mixed with live rounds should not happen. Any other employer would face hefty compensation claims and huge fines but it would seem the ministry of defence tries hard to persuade employees that they would be better of saying nothing that these things happen. To accept it be paid of retired out of the force on a pittance when they are entitled to claim compensation like any other employee they do not have to have left the force to claim and the military cannot sack someone for making a claim for compensation against them if that person was injured due to no fault of their own
